We are a community of film lovers and creators.
We are at Sundance 2020.
Some years past, a group of film enthusiasts rented a house in Park City during the Sundance Film Festival. We added another house, and then another house.
Then we started going to Cannes.
Since then, year after year, people have flocked together to support one another in pursuit of their artistic and creative dreams.
The Woodside network has now grown to include a diverse group of writers, directors, producers, journalists, and tech entrepreneurs.
Woodside is all about cooperation, collaboration, and community. Because competition, comparison, and cockiness are so last century.
We also pop up at Toronto, SXSW, and Telluride from time to time.
The Woodside Fellowship
The Woodside Fellowship is awarded annually to filmmakers at the early stages of their careers, often with projects in development. We empower writers, directors, and producers to form relationships with industry players by inviting them to attend the Sundance Film Festival, America’s foremost independent film festival.
Fellows stay in one of the Woodside Houses with a carefully curated group of dynamic individuals from the worlds of film, tech, politics, and media. This enables them to form friendships and partnerships, giving them an invaluable chance to kickstart their projects from development to reality.
The fellowship covers travel, accommodation, food, and movie tickets, allowing recipients to focus on networking, pitching, and perhaps a party or two. In exchange, they help host the houses. Fellows are selected with an eye toward career potential, current projects, collegiality, hosting ability, and willingness to crash on an air mattress. Mad cooking skills welcome!
